Associated Grocers provides membership to the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers to all program member stores, free of charge. CFIG is a non-profit trade association founded in 1962 which continues to be a collaborative community, equipping and enabling independent and specialty grocers for sustainable success.

CFIG acts as a strong and united voice for over 6900 independent grocery retailers across Canada. They provide many programs for operational excellence and foster solid relationships between retailers, wholesalers and suppliers. Programs include: Retailer of the Year, Conferences and Events, Industry Relations, Government Relations, and Master Merchandiser, among others. They also provide national scholarships every year to deserving students who are either employed in the grocery industry or related to someone employed in the grocery industry.
